MS9 File Complications
Common MS9 Opening Problems
NI Multisim Disappeared
You attempt to load your MS9 file and get an error such as "%%os%% Can't Open The MS9 File Extension". Customarily, this means that NI Multisim is not installed on %%os%%. This will prevent you from double-clicking to open the MS9 file because the OS doesn’t know how to handle it.
Tip: If you don't have NI Multisim installed, and you know of another program to open your MS9 file, you can try opening it by selecting from the programs listed under "Show Apps".
Incorrect NI Multisim Version
Sometimes your installed version of NI Multisim won't support your Multisim 9 Circuit Design File file. Installing the latest version of NI Multisim from National Instruments is recommended. Most of the time your Multisim 9 Circuit Design File file was created by a newer NI Multisim than what you have installed.
Tip: You can sometimes get hints about the right program version by right-clicking on the MS9 file, selecting "Properties", and looking at the version information.
Ultimately, most of the difficulties opening MS9 files are due to having the wrong version of NI Multisim installed.
