Understanding BOR Issues
Issues Opening BOR Files
Apple OS X Disappeared
Double-clicking your BOR file prompts the message "%%os%% Can't Open BOR File". Generally, this is experienced in %%os%% because Apple OS X isn't installed on your PC. The OS won't know what to do with your BOR file, so double-clicking to load the file doesn't work.
Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your BOR, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").
Apple OS X is Out-of-Date
Your Golden Orchard Apple II CD Rom File file is incompatible with Apple OS X because you might have the wrong version installed. You will need to download a newer version of Apple OS X if you don't have the right version. The primary cause of this problem is that your Golden Orchard Apple II CD Rom File file was created by a different (newer) version of Apple OS X than what's installed.
Tip: Sometimes you can get a clue about the version of BOR file you have by right clicking on the file, then clicking on "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac OSX).
Regardless, most of the BOR file opening problems relate to not having the right version of Apple OS X installed.
Other Causes of BOR File Opening Problems
Even with the correct version of Apple OS X installed, you can still experience difficulties opening BORs. If you're still experiencing problems opening BOR files, there could be other computer problems. These issues include:
- Corrupt Windows Registry file path references for BOR
- Mistaken removal of the Windows registry BOR description
- Corrupt install of Apple OS X or other BOR-related program
- BOR file corruption
- Malware-tainted BOR file can't be opened
- Hardware associated with BOR has outdated drivers
- Windows cannot load your Golden Orchard Apple II CD Rom File file due to insufficient resources (eg. RAM)
