Understanding BPU Issues
Frequent BPU Opening Issues
Unknown Software Isn't There
You attempt to load your BPU file and get an error such as "%%os%% Can't Open The BPU File Extension". If this is the case, it's usually due to the fact that you do not have Unknown Software for %%os%% installed on your computer. The OS won't know what to do with your BPU file, so double-clicking to load the file doesn't work.
Tip: If you know of another program that can open your BPU file, you can try opening it by selecting the application from the programs listed.
Incorrect Unknown Software Version
Your Unknown File Type file is incompatible with Unknown Software because you might have the wrong version installed. If you do not have the proper version Unknown Software (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. The primary cause of this problem is that your Unknown File Type file was created by a different (newer) version of Unknown Software than what's installed.
Tip: Find clues on the correct software version by right-clicking your BPU file and clicking "Properties".
Ultimately, most of the difficulties opening BPU files are due to having the wrong version of Unknown Software installed.
Other BPU File Opening Causes
Even with the correct version of Unknown Software installed, you can still experience difficulties opening BPUs. If you are continuing to have errors with loading BPU files, other external issues might be to blame. These issues include:
- Windows Registry BPU file paths that are incorrect
- Unintentional removal of the description of the BPU file inside the Windows Registry
- Defective install of a BPU program, such as Unknown Software
- The BPU itself is corrupted
- Past or present virus infection has affected your BPU
- BPU-related hardware has device drivers that obsolete
- Windows has inadequate resources to open your Unknown File Type file
