Understanding BZ Issues
   Troubles Opening BZ Files
 7-Zip Removed
If you attempt to load your BZ file, you experience a message such as "Can't Open BZ Files". If so, it typically means that you don't have 7-Zip installed for %%os%%. The typical path of opening your BZ with a double-click won't work because %%os%% cannot make the program connection.
Tip: When another BZ application is installed, you can choose to open it by selecting "Show Apps" and using that program.
    Incorrect 7-Zip Version
In other instances, your Bzip Compressed File file version may not be supported by your version of 7-Zip. If you've got the wrong version of 7-Zip installed, you'll need to install the correct version. This problem is most common when you have an older version of the software application, and your file was created by a newer version that it cannot recognize.
Tip: Sometimes you can get a clue about the version of BZ file you have by right clicking on the file, then clicking on "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac OSX).
Summary: Not having the right 7-Zip version on your computer can cause problems opening BZ files.
   Additional BZ Opening Issues
Although you might already have 7-Zip or another BZ-associated software installed on your computer, you can still encounter problems opening Bzip Compressed File files. There can be other issues - unrelated to software - preventing you from opening BZ files. Other contributing causes:
  - Windows Registry BZ file paths that are incorrect
- Accidental deletion of the description of the BZ file in the Windows registry
- 7-Zip or another BZ application experienced a flawed installation
- BZ file corruption
- Past or present virus infection has affected your BZ
- Device drivers for BZ-related hardware are out-of-date
- Your PC doesn’t have enough available resources to open the Bzip Compressed File file
