Troubleshooting Problems Opening MKA Files
   Common MKA Opening Problems
 MPlayer Removed
When you double-click your MKA file, you may see a dialog box from your operating system stating that it "Cannot Open This File Type". Customarily, this means that MPlayer is not installed on %%os%%. This will prevent you from double-clicking to open the MKA file because the OS doesn’t know how to handle it.
Tip: If you don't have MPlayer installed, and you know of another program to open your MKA file, you can try opening it by selecting from the programs listed under "Show Apps".
Wrong Version of MPlayer is Installed
Occasionally, you might have an outdated version of MPlayer installed that's incompatible with your Matroska Audio File type. You will need to download a newer version of MPlayer if you don't have the right version. The primary cause of this problem is that your Matroska Audio File file was created by a different (newer) version of MPlayer than what's installed.
Tip: Investigate your MKA file by right-clicking and selecting "Properties" to find clues on what version you need.
Conclusion: The majority of MKA file opening issues are due to not having the correct MPlayer version installed.
   Other MKA File Issues
Although you might already have MPlayer or another MKA-associated software installed on your computer, you can still encounter problems opening Matroska Audio File files. There can be other issues - unrelated to software - preventing you from opening MKA files. Issues that aren't software-related:
  - File references in the Windows Registry for MKA are wrong
- Mistaken removal of the Windows registry MKA description
- Corrupt install of MPlayer or other MKA-related program
- MKA file corruption
- The MKA is infected with a virus
- Hardware related to MKAs has device driver corruption
- Your computer does not have the adequate system resources to open the Matroska Audio File format
