Sources of MOM Problems
Common MOM Opening Problems
Missing Apple Xcode
When trying to open your MOM file, you get the error "Can't Open MOM File Type". Usually, this is because you do not have Apple Xcode for %%os%% installed. Because your operating system doesn't know what to do with this file, you won't be able to open it by double-clicking.
Tip: Another MOM-related program can be selected to open the file by clicking "Show Apps" and finding the application.
Outdated Apple Xcode
Your Managed Object Model file is incompatible with Apple Xcode because you might have the wrong version installed. You will need to download a newer version of Apple Xcode if you don't have the right version. This problem is most common when you have an older version of the software application, and your file was created by a newer version that it cannot recognize.
Tip: You can sometimes get hints about the right program version by right-clicking on the MOM file, selecting "Properties", and looking at the version information.
Conclusion: The majority of MOM file opening issues are due to not having the correct Apple Xcode version installed.
Other Causes of MOM File Opening Problems

- Corrupt install of Apple Xcode or other MOM-related program
- MOM file corruption
- Past or present virus infection has affected your MOM
