Issues Opening ATLAS Files

Stronghold Disappeared

If you attempt to load your ATLAS file, you experience a message such as "Can't Open ATLAS Files". If so, it typically means that you don't have Stronghold installed for %%os%%. This will prevent you from double-clicking to open the ATLAS file because the OS doesn’t know how to handle it.

Tip: When another ATLAS application is installed, you can choose to open it by selecting "Show Apps" and using that program.

Incorrect Stronghold Version

Sometimes your installed version of Stronghold won't support your Stronghold 3 Editor Data file. If you do not have the proper version Stronghold (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. This problem is predominately due to having a Stronghold 3 Editor Data file version that was created by a newer version of Stronghold than what you have installed on your PC.

Tip: Find clues on the correct software version by right-clicking your ATLAS file and clicking "Properties".

Regardless, most of the ATLAS file opening problems relate to not having the right version of Stronghold installed.

Additional ATLAS Opening Issues

Although you might already have Stronghold or another ATLAS-associated software installed on your computer, you can still encounter problems opening Stronghold 3 Editor Data files.
